PROFILE OF THE BoD AND KEY MANAGEMENT STAFF
Dr. George A. Ameyaw is currently the BoD Chairman of the Cocoa Research Co-operative Credit Union. He is the Senior Research Scientist and, currently, the Ag. Head of the Bunso Substation of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana. He holds a PhD in Plant Virology (Plant Virus Epidemiology and Molecular Diagnostics) from the University of Reading, United Kingdom. He has been a researcher with extensive experience on the cocoa swollen shoot virus disease (CSSVD) menace in Ghana. He has held a Borlaug Fellowship at the University of Arizona (USA), with several other scientific visits to some Universities and Research Institutes’ in Wales, (University of Aberystwyth), Japan (Sapporo), France (CIRAD), Israel (Volcani Institute), and many other countries in the west African Sub-Region. He was the Vice – Chairman of CRIG Co-Operative credit union, Tafo from 2015 to 2018.
DR. GEORGE A. AMEYAW (BoD CHAIRMAN)
Ms. Winifred Kumi is the Vice Chairperson of Cocoa Research Co-operative Credit Union Ltd and currently the Vice Chairperson of the Eastern Chapter of CUA. She is presently the Scientific Secretary of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana(CRIG). She was the Institution’s Microbiologist at the Physiology / Biochemistry Division from 2009 to 2015. She is a graduate from the University of Ghana and holds Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Food Science and Master of Philosophy degree in Food Science. She is currently the Treasurer of the Ghana Association, Koforidua Branch. She has attended several scientific conferences and workshops around the globe
MS. WINIFRED O. KUMI (BoD VICE CHAIRPERSON)
Mr. Opoku Brenya is the Treasurer of the BoD of Cocoa Research Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. He has a Diploma in Commerce from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is the Senior Accounts Officer at CRIG. He served as the Treasurer of the Bunso CRIG Co-Operative Credit Union from 1987 to 1991. He was re- elected to this position from 1993 until the merger. He was instrumental in the construction of the CRCCU office building. He is a retired staff of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana.
MR. OPOKU BRENYA (BoD TREASURER)
Mr. Lloyd Brobbey Adasi is a Principal Public Affairs Officer at the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana and a member in good standing of the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana. He holds a Masters Degree in Communication from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and a degree in History from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Mr. Adasi serves on several committees in CRIG including CRIG Newsletter, CRIG Newspaper and Funeral Committees.
Mr. Adasi is the National 1st Vice Chairman for the Cocoa Research Institute Workers Union.
MR LLOYD BROBBEY ADASI (BoD SECRETARY)
Mr. Ofori Ntiamoah is a retired staff of the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG). He is the Assistant Treasurer of Cocoa Research Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. He was the Head of the CRIG Wantram Plantation from 2009 – 2016. He is the Chairman of the CRIG funeral committee and also a member of the CRIG welfare committee. He holds a Diploma in Agriculture from the University of Ghana, Legon.
MR OFORI NTIAMOAH - (BoD ASSISTANT TREASURER)
Mr. Samuel Y. Mawudeku is a Chief Technical Officer (Deputy Manager) at the CRIG substation Afosu. He holds a degree in Agricultural Extensions and Economics at the University of Cape Coast, and a Diploma in Agricultural Education. He was formerly the Head of CRIG substation Bunso.
